Hollywood At Last

I Love Lucy Season 4 Episode 17 Hollywood At Last

 11/17/2016

In this episode, Lucy and Ricky go on a trip to Hollywood, California.  Actually, the trip is for Ricky's career because he received a role to play Don Juan in a picture, but Lucy came along.  This affects my relationship with Ricky because it shows that he (reluctantly) welcomes Lucy into what he is doing rather than leaving her behind in New York City.  It makes me feel like he really is caring about her company.  Lucy on the other hand, seems very nosy when they reach Hollywood.  For example, when her and Ricky are eating lunch at the Brown Derby Restuarant, she couldn't stop staring at a movie star named William Holden. This makes me feel like she is being nosy because she keeps looking at William when he is trying to have a normal lunch, but it also makes me feel like I have some common lines with her and maybe she isn't doing something very bad.  On the other hand, Ricky actually takes William the movie star home with him, since they both work for the same production company. When I saw this happen, it kind of hurt our relationship a little.  I felt like maybe he wasn't a very honest person and I might not like him as much.  I felt this way because he was bringing home another man and I almost thought he was trying to get romantic with William.

I would advise Lucy not to stare so much at people.  If she is interested in someone, I think that she should wait for a break in their conversation and introduce herself.  In this way, she would not look as weird or unusual.  On the other hand, I would say that Ricky should stop bringing other people home especially other men without explaining what he is doing.  I feel that this makes him look like a weird person for a couple of reasons.  First off, some people would say he was cheating on Lucy and others would say he looked gay.

I would expect several changes in behavior in Lucy but not so much in Ricky.  I think that Lucy
will not stare near as much in the next episode.  I feel this way because she was not happy when William was staring back at her constantly and she couldn't get him to stop.  Given this situation, I think that she realizes that staring can get her the opposite reaction of what she wants.  On the other hand, Ricky will not really change his behavior in the next episode.  I feel this way because he doesn't seem to learn anything or experience negative consequences as the result of his actions.  When people don't get a negative consequence, usually they don't make their behavior better.
