Season 6 Episode 12 Ricky Gets A dog

In this episode, Lucble and her family end up getting a dog in an apartment that doesn't allow dogs.  However, Fred the landlord at first accepts the dog because he is named Fred.  The only problem with having this dog is that it barks a lot and Lcuy and Ricky must get rid of it.  I feel like I am still friends with Lucy because I too have had to make hard decisions like Lucy does in this episode.  The one thing that makes my friendship a little weaker with Lucy is the fact that she can't say no to anything.  When Ricky Jr.  wants the dog in the house, Lucy knows she must say no but cannot.  This quality makes her very passive.  However, I do like her for being caring to her children.  In this instance, she is caring because she tells Ricky Jr.  that she will consider the matter.

 

On the other hand, I would not want to be friends with Lucy and Ricky because of their weakness and unwillingness to congront a difficult situation.  When Lucy and Ricky must get rid of the dog, they both decide they will leave the apartment before Ricky Jr.  gets up.  In this way, they can have the dog gone without having to deal with Ricky Jr.  This demonstrates weakness because it shows that they are unwilling to do something difficult.  The difficult thing would be telling Ricky Jr.  that they are getting to id of the dog.  If they were good strong people, they might not try and hide from Ricky Jr, but instead explain the situation straight up and try to educate.  Also, I think that I don't like Lucy as much because she and Ricky communicate poorly.  In this incident specifically, they don't communicate which one will leave the house before Ricky Jr.  getbbs up in the morning.  On the other hand, I am a pretty good communicator which means I don't have this in common with Lucy.

 

After watching this episode, I would give Lucy and Ricky some advice.  First off, I would tell Lucy that when there are rules, you sometimes have to say no straight up.  I would let her know that since she is so passive it could result in  Ricky Jr.  thinking she will try to give him whatever he wants.  I would advise Ricky to make sure he communicates with Lucy thoroughly whenever they are planning to do something together.  Lastly, I think that Lucy and Ricky trying to shield Ricky Jr.  is sort of a bad idea.  I feel this way because it doesn't teach him to confront bad situations.
